Now beginning his 26th year as a teacher and coach, Coach Ferrari is currently in his eighth year at the helm of the East Coweta Wrestling Program. Under Ferrari, the Indians have amassed several state placers as well as multiple team Region Dual titles. The 21-22 season had the highest team finish in school history, with the Indians finishing in the top 15 in the state.
Coach Ferrari came to ECHS from Union Grove High School where he helped coach the Wolverines to multiple top five state finishes. During his tenure at Union Grove, he coached multiple state placers, including several wrestlers that have or who are currently competing at the college level. Prior to coaching at Union Grove High, Coach Ferrari began the wrestling progam at Union Grove Middle School, where many of his high school athletes began their careers under him. Prior to Union Grove opening in 2000, he began his coaching career under the tutelage of his former high school coach, Don Willams at Eagle's Landing High.
Coach Ferrari attended University of West Georgia, where he worked with Bremen High School as well as Central of Carrollton High School as a volunteer coach. He also served as a coach of the Team Georgia National Duals team, as well as an NHSCA coach of several Team Georgia representatives. Coach Ferrari currently also serves as the South Metro Takedown Association Secretary.
Coach Ferrari competed at Eagle's Landing High School under the direction of Coach Don Wiliams. During his high school career, Coach Ferrari amassed over 100 wins and was a four year letterman for the Golden Eagles. He was a three time state qualifier and a AAA state placer at 171 lbs.
Coach Ferrari resides in Senoia with his wife, Stephanie and his three children, Corbin, Addelyn, and Brayson.
Coach Gabriel began his coaching career here on the Reservation. Coach Gabriel is the head girls coach and also serves as an assistant boys coach. Along with his wrestling coaching duties, Coach Gabriel also serves as the Head Flag Football Coach for the Lady Indians.
Coach Gabriel wrestled at East Coweta from 2015-2017. He wrestled at both 120 and 126 in the varsity lineup, where he was a two-time letterman. He had key victories for the team, including a win in a State Duals match against Walton, which was East Coweta's first ever State Duals victory.
Coach Gabriel currently resides in Newnan, GA. He graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor's in History. He recently graduated with his Master's of Art in Teaching from the University of West Georgia and is currently working on his Specialist's degree. In his free time, he likes to watch Alabama football, Braves baseball, go hiking, and go to concerts.
Coach Buck Roetman is entering his 27th year assisting the Indians. He has been a part of the EC Wrestling program through the last two decades and has been an intergal part of bringing EC Wrestling to the forefront.
Coach Roetman works in the aviation industry. He enjoys flying as a stunt pilot and has been a part of many events and ribbon cutting ceremonies throughout the Southeast. Coach Roetman lives in Luthersville with his beautiful wife Candi.
Coach Derek Roetman joined the wrestling staff here at EC in 2020. He joins his father, Buck Roetman in assisting with coaching both the boys and girls squads. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the program and is invested in continuing to make EC Wrestling one of the best programs in the state.
Coach Roetman was a four time state qualifier for the Indians. He was a region champion, as well as a state placer for the Indians at 119 lbs in 2006. Derek was also a freestyle state champion and runner-up, as well as a NHSCA All-American. Derek went on to compete for Northwest College in Powell, WY for 2 seasons and also for Truett McConnell in North Georgia.
Derek is a military veteran, having served one tour in Afghanistan for the US Army. He currently lives in Senoia with his wife, Lauren and their two dogs.
Coach Cody Orcutt is beginning his second year with the Indians. He recently relocated to Newnan from Michigan.
